Public Housing Authorities

Assisted housing in the City of Oshawa is provided by various agencies. Durham Region Non-Profit Housing and other various private non-profit agencies also provide cooperative and non-profit housing in the form of either rent-geared-to-income or rent supplement housing units.

The total number of existing assisted housing units in the City of Oshawa was approximately 3,600 as of the end of 2001, made up of 1,092 seniors units and 2,508 family units. The following table highlights the number of assisted seniors and family units by dwelling type and service provider.
