The City of Oshawa is committed to Environmental leadership through Goal B of the Community Strategic Plan, which states that Oshawa will be A Green and Sustainable Community.

Oshawa is recognized leader in many areas, including brownfield development, naturalization, energy conservation, integrated pest management, municipal beautification and volunteer participation through the Oshawa Environmental Advisory Committee, Communities in Bloom, Pitch-in! and other programs.
