Rerouting 403 and 403B Park Bus Route Off Stone Street
Certain residents on Stone Street have formally requested the removal of Durham Region Transit’s 403/403B Park bus service from Stone Street. In response to this request, the Durham Transit Executive Committee has decided to remove the bus service from Stone Street and replace it with alternate routing along parts of Evangeline Drive and Lakeview Avenue that currently do not have bus service, provided that the City canvasses all affected residents on the alternate route and a majority of residents on the alternate route agree to the new route.
In light of the foregoing City Council directed staff to liaise with Durham Region Transit to investigate options for the Stone Street bus service re-routing. The options (see maps below) are contained in City Staff report DS-10-100 dated April 28, 2010 (see document link below). City Council has now authorized the Development Services Committee to held a public meeting to present the various options and obtain public comments.
